More or less evolute, subdiscoidal shells with generally
strong ornamentation and venter flat to slightly sulcate. Rather compressed;
ribs strong, usually looped, persisting to end of body chamber; ventrolateral
clavi more or less parallel to siphuncle. Suture-line resembling that
of Anahoplites and Hoplites.
